Gamma ray bursts and gravitational waves

Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) satellite suggest that the recently discovered gravitational wave source, a pair of two coalescing black holes, detected by LIGO, was related to a gamma-ray burst. We wrote an article about a plausible theoretical scenario that might have led to such an event. The preprint of this article, “On the gamma-ray burst — gravitational wave association in GW150914″ is available here. Authors: Agnieszka Janiuk, Michał Bejger, Szymon Charzyński and Petra Sukova.

Variability and winds in microquasars

Our article, “Non-linear variability in microquasars in relation with the winds from their accretion disks” by Agnieszka Janiuk, Mikołaj Grzędzielski, Petra Sukova, Wojtek Kowalski, and Fiamma Capitanio & Stefano Bianchi, will be in the conference proceedings of “High Energy Phenomena in Relativistic Outflows V” (volume of the Argentinian Astronomical Society). Abstract and preprint of the paper can be found under this link.

Deterministic chaos in the accreting black holes

Our short article, on the “Numerical test of the method for revealing traces of deterministic chaos in the accreting black holes” by Petra Sukova and Agnieszka Janiuk, was submitted to the Workshop Series of the Argentinian Astronomical Society. The preprint is available on arXiv under this link.
