Lecture on Compact Stars


In the spring semester 2017/2018, prof. Agnieszka Janiuk is giving a lecture on “Compact Stars”. This is an advanced course for the students of the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University of Technology. The material includes physics of compact stars, in particular white dwarfs, neutron stars and black holes, and their cosmic environment. Lectures will take place on Thursdays, from 16.00 to 18.00 hrs, in the Physics Faculty (Koszykowa 75).

PhD defence

Upon decision of the PhD Committee at CTP PAS, Mr Mikołaj Grzędzielski, after submitting his thesis and passing the required exams, has been admitted for a public defence of his PhD. The thesis, referee reports sent by external reviewers, and all documentation of the PhD procedure are available at the CFT website under this link.

The public defence will take place on March 12, at 9.00 am in the Room 203 of the Institute of Physics.

Talk on the Supercomputing Frontiers Conference

Our extended abstract has been accepted as an oral contribution for the “Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2018″ conference. The meeting will take place in Warsaw, on March 12-15, at the Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical and Computational Modeling. The website and program of the conference is available here.
