X-IFU Consortium meeting

On April 15-18, in Grenoble, France, the 9th consortium meeting of the X-IFU took place. X-IFU is an X-ray Integral Field Unit, the spectrometer, to be placed onboard the Athena X-ray observatory. Planned launch of this mission is in 2032, while the program is now in the B-phase of the design and prototype testing.

The instrument construction is led by France and ESA-member countries, with contributions from the United States and Japan. The consortium website is here. From CTP PAS, prof. Agnieszka Janiuk represents Poland in the Science Advisory Team of the instrument.
