Article about jets variability accepted to ApJ

The article on “The MRI imprint on the short GRB jets” by Konstantinos Sapountzis and Agnieszka Janiuk has been finally accepted  to the Astrophysical Journal. The accepted version after all revisions is now available under this link. The work shows how minimum variability timescale of the jet, emerging from an accreting black hole that formed after the binary neutron star merger is connected with the timescale of the magneto-rotational instablity in the accretion disk. Our simulations reveal the variability of the maximum achievable Lorentz factor, in terms of the total energy flux (Poynting plus thermal), as normalized to the mass flux. The quantity denoted in figure below by “mu”, is derived from the special relativistic jet theory.
