Collaborators
Astrophysicist from Copernicus Astronomical Center in Warsaw. He is interested in compact objects: black holes and neutron stars, the equation of state of the very dense matter, hydrodynamics in General Relativity. He works also on the theory and detection of gravitational waves in the LIGO/Virgo project. More information can be found on his homepage.
dr Magdalena Kunert-Bajraszewska
Astronomer from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She did her PhD (with honors) in 2006 from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics on this university and currently she works there as a the assistant professor (adjunct). She is actively involved in the European Network of Radiotelescopes of the very large baseline interferometry. She is also a member of the scientific council of the radio survey LOFAR. She is interested in broad absorption line quasars, compact radiosources and binary quasars. More about her research can be found on the homepage.
prof. Qingwen Wu
Professor from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. He got his PhD in 2007 from Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Science. Then did his postdoc in Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and visited Yukawa Institute for theoretical physics, Kyoto university and Max Planck institute for Astrophysics in the last several years. He is interested in the physics of black hole accretion disks and jets, X-ray Binaries, Active Galactic Nuclei, magnetic fields & turbulences, and other aspects of astrophysics of compact objects.
Instrumentation, planned cosmic missions:
ATHENA. The X-ray telescope designed by European Space Agency and aimed to address the Cosmic Vision science theme ‘The Hot and Energetic Universe’. On 27 June 2014, ATHENA was selected as the second L-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015–25 plan, with a launch foreseen in 2028.
