Quasi-periodicity of neutron star binary 4U 1636-536
We studied the low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1636-536, an accreting neutron star, in which the quasi-periodicity of ~45 d was discovered. We interpreted it as resulting from the hydrogen thermal-ionization instability occurring in outer regions of the accretion disc.
